BEST MEAL HAVE EVER HAD!
We started with "Scottish Tapas", all of which was fantastic. That was followed by monkfish and gnocchi, also delicious. At this point, we decided to turn it into a four course menu and we asked for a course of Haggis before we got our dessert. The staff was so attentive and accommodating. We had never had Haggis before and I wasn't sure I would like it. I didn't like it. I LOVED IT. Everything about my meal was superb. I don't even remember what dessert was, just that it was lovely.
I could not recommend this place enough. I will be returning every single time I am in Edinburgh. The food was excellent, the staff was great.
What a place!
This June (2014) we were in Edinburgh for the Royal Highland Show and came to Amber one night, the food was absolutely exceptional, easily the best I have had in Edinburgh to date at any restaurant – and very good value. Our server was excellent and we had a great chat and some very knowledgeable advice on drinks from Kenny at the bar.
Great lunchtime venue...
Keep this quiet but we've found a great place for a tasty lunch. We each had a fabulous smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich in a crusty roll and it was the best I've tasted. Also two Highland Cream lattes went down very well (ok I felt left out with diners trying out all the different whiskies)...
