Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2026

It is Scottish Apprentice Week and the perfect moment to spotlight our Alastair S. McIntosh Apprenticeship Programme. This unique opportunity is open to all team members to apply for alongside their current role, allowing them to develop new skills while contributing directly to the future of SWE.

Scotch Whisky Experience Apprentices. Headshots of staff members.

Each apprentice leads a business improvement project designed to support positive change in key areas such as visitor experience, marketing, events and retail.

As this year’s apprenticeships draw to a close, we caught up with several participants to hear more about their projects including Evangeline May (Visitor Experience): ‘My project aims to give staff members a complete list of learning and development opportunities at SWE so that they can make the most of the fantastic resources that the company offers. Additionally, I have interviewed SWE alumni to gain important insight as to how SWE helped them in their careers, both in the whisky industry and beyond!’

Joining Evangeline on the Visitor Experience Apprenticeship was Marcus Calderon , who created a database of information on luxury whiskies. This resource is designed to support new starts on their whisky learning journey.

Looking at a different part of the business, our Senior Visitor Assistant, Jackson Longstaff undertook the Marketing Apprenticeship, focusing on launching our TikTok channel.

Team members, Karen Walters, Robyn and Daniel are also finalising their 2025/6 apprenticeships.

Well done Team! 🎉
