Pekoe Tea sources the finest single-estate teas from around the world and creates unique, hand-crafted blends at its Edinburgh tea factory based in the historic port of Leith.

All of Pekoe Tea’s single-estate teas are traded directly where possible and Jon and Esther are proud of the personal relationships they have made with tea growers and producers around the world. Pekoe Tea also exclusively stocks Scotland’s first (and currently only), 100% pure, black, Scottish-grown tea: ‘Kinnettles Gold’, grown in Angus.

As well as the Leith factory, Pekoe Tea has a shop on Leven Street in Edinburgh where all their teas are available to buy and regularly hosted tea workshops and tastings, where Jon, Esther and their team could give customers insight into the history and methods of brewing and serving tea with respect to different tea origins and cultures. They look forward to resuming this when regulations permit.

Jon and Esther’s passion for tea has led them to visit tea-growing areas around the world including China, India, Sri Lanka and Kenya and their focus is to bring the best teas available to their base in Scotland and to share their discoveries and expertise. All of their stocked teas are imported into Edinburgh and all of their blends are made in-house from scratch with every tea packed by hand. Pekoe Tea ships globally with an established international clientele reaching far beyond Scotland.

Amongst Pekoe Tea’s extensive range of hand-blended teas is a strong Scottish tea collection, comprising a 5-set Whisky Tea Collection (sold here at The Scotch Whisky Experience), made to reflect the terroir and individual flavour characteristics of the five whisky producing regions of Scotland and blended with real Single Malt Whiskies. In addition to this Pekoe Tea has collaborated with numerous small craft and local Scottish producers to develop bespoke tea blends such as The Secret Herb Garden tea and The Fudge House Tea and partnerships with Old Curiosity Gin for a Gin tea, amongst other Scottish-focused offerings.
