Full Whisky School Itinerary
Our full day course on all things Scotch whisky will see you surrounded by fellow enthusiasts and professionals, and treated to the famous hospitality of our onsite Amber Restaurant. The course is led by senior members of our team with many years of experience working in the whisky industry, and you'll be free to ask questions as the day goes on, ensuring you're completely confident in your new-found or refreshed knowledge by the end of the day.
9.00am Welcome and coffee in the World’s Largest Collection of Scotch Whisky
9.30am Malt and Grain Whisky production
11.00am Spirit of deception: The difference between Scotch Whisky and some of its competitors
11.30am A history of the origins and development of Scotch Whisky
12.00pm Team Quiz
12.30pm Lunch in our award-winning restaurant, Amber.
1.30pm Tutored tasting and sensory perception
2.45pm The art of blending – introduction to blending and opportunity to blend your own 10cl blended Scotch whisky
3.45pm Selling and Serving Scotch Whisky
4.15pm “Certificate of Expertise in the Sales & Service of Scotch Whisky”: A 40 minute exam to ensure that candidates leave with the knowledge and skill required to help them sell Scotch Whisky.
Candidates will be informed of results by post, and awarded distinctions, merits or passes where appropriate.
