Meaning: Wooded slope
Our interesting fact: One of the only distilleries to run cool water down the surface of the external neck of the still. Fascinating? Yes it is! The bottle even has a fantastic unique shape inspired by the pot still's "cooling jacket"!
Eco and sustainability
Owners of Fettercairn Distillery in the Scottish Highlands, Whyte and Mackay have unveilled Fettercairn Forest, a long-held vision to conserve, nurture and secure local natural resources for future generations. This land management vision has been marked with the planting of over 13,000 oak trees and saplings across the 8500-acre historic Fasque Estate, as Fettercairn sets its sights on producing its own single estate Scottish oak matured whiskies.
Fettercairn Forest is part of a long term, wider commitment by Whyte and Mackay to develop a sustainable future for responsibly sourced Scottish Oak across the full whisky portfolio.
To mark this landmark initiative, acclaimed environmental land artist Rob Mulholland has visualised an iconic sculpture which is set to be unveiled later this year, and the piece of art will reside at Fettercairn Distillery as we all watch the forest evolve for the next 200 years - and beyond. If this doesn't demonstate the long term commitment required in whisky making, we don't know what does!
