An award-winning campaign
Following a series of celebratory events and campaigns to mark 2018 as the 30th anniversary of Edinburgh’s original whisky attraction, the Scotch Whisky Experience team were delighted to collect the coveted marketing award at a conference run by the Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions (ASVA). The 30th anniversary campaign was one of three shortlisted entries for the annual award, fending off competition from Royal Highland Wildlife Park and Edinburgh Dungeon to be crowned the winners at the conference’s award ceremony on Thursday.
The campaign, which was aimed at celebrating the advocacy and connections that the Scotch Whisky Experience has created and nurtured over three decades, has been implemented throughout the year, building from branded industry-focussed activity through to a month of visitor-facing content and competitions during May, the official anniversary of the attraction’s opening. Events included a series of distillery tour giveaways from across Scotland.
“We were so pleased to receive this level of recognition for our campaign”, said Julie Trevisan-Hunter, the Scotch Whisky Experience’s Marketing Director. “It was the result of so much collaboration with friends and colleagues in the whisky and tourism industries, celebrating the relationships we have built up over three decades. We were all touched at how many people contributed from our contacts near and far to create a memorable series of content and events. All in all, it’s been a very special year.”
Marketing Manager Rosie Willmot, who collected the award on behalf of the Scotch Whisky Experience, was also a finalist in the ASVA Rising Star category.
