Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week

Apprentices mac bar detail

The beginning of March marks National Apprenticeship Week, a week to celebrate the achievements and progress of our current team of apprentices: Becca Buckner, Elsa Hare, Éoin Ó Murchú and Ali Baxter.

Here at the Scotch Whisky Experience we have run an in-house apprenticeship programme for the past two years, recognising the members of our team who go the extra mile and show real potential for excelling in the industry. Our 2018 apprentices have been spending this year receiving interdepartmental training, mentoring from heads of department, managerial shadowing, and undertaking personal projects to help improve their skillsets and give them confidence for their future career development.

“We’re now halfway through the apprentices’ programme of training, and we have some exciting projects in the pipeline from them”, says Lenka Whyles, Head of Operations at the Scotch Whisky Experience. “It is very fulfilling to be able to nurture this young talent in our midst, and we’re excited to see their careers progress as a result of their internal and external training they have received.”
