Whisky Tastings at the Scotch Whisky Experience
For a truly memorable experience join our professionally trained staff for a private Whisky Tasting, suitable for all guests, whether whisky connoisseurs or novices. Not only will they appreciate what makes Scotland the home of Scotch Whisky, but they will leave feeling inspired by the knowledge, enthusiasm and expertise of our staff.
Following a fully-guided Private Whisky Tour, guests are escorted to one of our private function rooms to commence the Tasting. A ‘Sensory Perception Quiz’ is a fun ice breaker and team activity to begin the Whisky Tasting. A prize is awarded for the most accurate answers to an aroma test.
With our knowledgeable whisky expert your guests then have the opportunity to nose and taste 4 single malt whiskies from the four main whisky producing regions of Scotland; Lowlands, Highlands, Speyside and Islands. Together, guests will be tutored through the five stages of “appreciating” Scotch Whisky; colour, body, nose, palate and finish. Whiskies are selected to illustrate regional differences, wood finishes, differing ages of maturation and methods of production.
Before your guests leave, everyone is gifted an exclusive Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre whisky miniature. The Tour and tasting will last approximately 2 hours.
We can also hold Whisky Tastings off-site at a venue of your choice. The format of such events varies according to individual requirements.
The Tasting will last approximately 1 hour. It works best with everyone seated at tables, with space in front of each guest for our Whisky mat to hold the four Single Malt Whiskies.
In terms of our requirements for holding Whisky Tastings at another venue, we simply request a suitable room set-up. We will communicate directly with the venue to make all arrangements.

Informal Whisky Tastings
For large groups, informal whisky tastings work very well. On these occasions, we organise several tables manned by several members of our whisky team. At each station we would have a different single Malt Whisky (four Malts in total to represent each of the four main whisky producing regions of Scotland).
The Tasting will commence with an introduction on how to nose and taste the whiskies, as well as a description of the whiskies available.
Your guests would then be free to nose and taste each of the 4 single malt whiskies at their leisure with instruction from each of our experts.
